Island Pearl is an ex-US Navy "Liberty Launch". She was originally built in 1991 by Willard Marine in California for the carrier- USS ESSEX, where she was assigned as a Ship's liberty and multipurpose utility boat. She was later re-assigned to Naval Station Pearl Harbor where she served as a ferry boat to shuttle Navy personnel for the remainder of her military service life. It was during this service, the number '34' was painted on; the boat was known locally at Naval Station Pearl Harbor as 'Shuttle NS-34'. In 2004, her previous owners completed a conversion and total re-fit of the into an elegant launch style vessel.
From Gray to Green:
The Anna Maria Island Shuttle Service has "Islandized" the Island Pearl to suit her local Florida / Island environment. During her conversion we have kept a close eye on utilizing environmentally friendly products to aid in her efficiency, warmth of personality and impact on the beautiful but fragile local environment in which she sails.
New efficient LED lighting has been installed. Her decks have been refinished with recycled, renewable cork flooring. She has efficient toilet and waste water systems. Even her bilge water is filtered before being pumped out! 
The Island Pearl will utilize bio-diesel fuel blends to cut down her carbon footprint as well as soot and odor. Her turbo-diesel engines sip fuel while pushing her efficient displacement hull quietly through the water.
Her simple roll up windows allow the beautiful Florida weather inside to create our own floating variation on the famous Sarasota School of Architecture ideal of letting the outside in! You won't feel isolated or claustrophobic on board, but rather- experience Florida at it's best; on her sparkling waters, in the brilliant sunshine and fresh clean air!
The Island Pearl has been inspected, certified and licensed by the United States Coast Guard. She carries state of the art electronics and all of the required safety equipment. She is certified safe, she is comfortable, she is friendly and most important of all- SHE IS FUN!

Our classic 49 passenger launch is available for cruising and partying with your wedding guests, for a rehearsal dinner activity, even for an on the water wedding ceremony!
