Island Pearl is an ex-US Navy "Liberty Launch". She was originally built in 1991 by Willard Marine in California for the carrier- USS ESSEX, where she was assigned as a Ship's liberty and multipurpose utility boat. She was later re-assigned to Naval Station Pearl Harbor where she served as a ferry boat to shuttle Navy personnel for the remainder of her military service life. It was during this service, the number '34' was painted on; the boat was known locally at Naval Station Pearl Harbor as 'Shuttle NS-34'. In 2004, her previous owners completed a conversion and total re-fit of the into an elegant launch style vessel.
From Gray to Green:
The Anna Maria Island Shuttle Service has "Islandized" the Island Pearl to suit her local Florida / Island environment. During her conversion we have kept a close eye on utilizing environmentally friendly products to aid in her efficiency, warmth of personality and impact on the beautiful but fragile local environment in which she sails.
New super efficient LED lighting has been installed. Her decks have been refinished with recycled, renewable cork flooring. She has efficient toilet and waste water systems. Even her bilge water is filtered before being pumped out!
The Island Pearl will utilize bio-diesel fuel blends to cut down her carbon footprint as well as soot and odor. Her turbo-diesel engines sip fuel while pushing her efficient displacement hull quietly through the water.
Her simple roll up windows allow the beautiful Florida weather inside to create our own floating variation on the famous Sarasota School of Architecture ideal of letting the outside in! You won't feel isolated or claustrophobic on board, but rather you experience Florida at it's best- on her sparkling waters, in the sunshine and fresh clean air!
The Island Pearl has been inspected, certified and licensed by the United States Coast Guard. She carries state of the art electronics and all of the required safety equipment. She is certified safe, she is comfortable, she is friendly and most important of all- SHE IS FUN!

Any day of the week you may charter the Island Pearl for either Daytime, Sunset or Evening Cruises for Private Excursions, Office Parties, Family Get Togethers, Church & Neighborhood Association trips, Luncheons, Dinner and Cocktail Parties. Sailing times are flexible to accomodate your special cruise!
The Island Pearl is based out of Twin Dolphin Marina in downtown Bradenton. She can also travel to multiple locations in and around Anna Maria Island, Cortez, Long Boat Key and even Sarasota, to meet your party!

February News-
"Island Pearl" our beautiful 50ft. launch is finished with her interior facelift!
We are servicing & painting her hull right now and she will be undergoing her final USCG inspection/certification by the 3rd week of February. She will be located on "B" dock along the downtown Bradenton waterfront at Twin Dolphin Marina and also periodically sitting in Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island. Stop by or call us to arraign a walk through!
She has an open and inviting Florida / Island feel to her. Her windows roll up to let the outside in and roll down for a rain shower or to temper the evening breeze.
She is stable and roomy, yet intimate enough to keep the party connected from bow to stern.
Pastel colors, mahogany trim and her new environmentally friendly, recycled cork decking adds her warm Florida motiff to the occupancy space.
Efficient LED lighting has been installed to keep the party going into the evening hours. Her sound system upgraded. Her bathroom is roomy and clean!
Her hull shape maximizes her efficiency and keeps her flat and smooth as you cruise the protected waters of the Manatee River, Tampa Bay and the ICW. (We learned this month that her design and construction for the US Navy required her to be literally pushed off of the deck of the carrier she served, drop 80 ft. into the sea and still serve as a functioning rescue craft! Leave it to our military to require such tough standards. Needless to say we'll be having none of those issues!)
Our integral service counter and kitchenette has room and practicality to allow our professional staff to provide you and your guests delicious appetizers, soft drinks and cocktails while keeping the kitchen duties out of the middle of the party.
